"When one defines oneself as Pagan, it means she or he follows an Earth or Nature religion, one that sees the divine manifest in all creation. The cycles of Nature are our holy days, the Earth is out temple, its plants and creatures our partners and teachers. We worship a deity that is both male and female, a mother Goddess and father God, who together created all that is, was, or will be. We respect life, cherish the free will of sentient beings, and accept the sacredness of all creation." ~Edain McCoy

The journey begins

I am Graceful Dawn or at least that is the name that my Goddess has given me. I am a solitary practitioner just starting out. Several years ago, Wicca called to me, I read a few books and tried my hand at "magick" but my heart and soul where not in it. I was doing it for the wrong reasons. Don't get me wrong, I felt the pull back then as much as I feel it now. But it just wasn't the right time for me.
Now, I am happily married with a beautiful son. I have a home, a great job (raising my son) and finally feel like I can "come home" to Wicca.
Please understand, I AM NEW to the craft and I know that I have plenty to learn!! I have not attempted any magick yet, I feel like I need to establish a real relationship to the Goddess and God and I need to understand the world around me to understand that I am an intrical part of the circle of life.

I have found and read many articles online and am hungry for more information.

Books I have read:

Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner
Wicca guide for the solitary practitioner by Scott Cunningham

Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner

Jesse Wolf Hardin: Gaia Eros - Reconnecting to the Magic and Spirit of Nature
Gaia Eros: Reconnecting to the Spirit of Nature, by Jesse Wolf Hardin
